Orientation Island part 2

Another day on Orientation Island


The next time I logged on I realized that nothing I had done so far (the tasks) had been saved and I had to start all over again. Which was really annoying but as I had already done them a couple of times I just thought of it as a game and did them all again, thinking to myself that it all will be worth it and I could finally leave this Orientation Island and get onto the real thing.
But again nothing happened, I was stuck on there and just wasn’t able to leave. Nothing I did would give me a way out. Even continuing kissing the parrot didn’t help. At this point I got really frustrated, and gave up again but this time I found out that one can save all the things done before, and tasks completed, so I did that, thinking that I wouldn’t have to do them again, the next time I logged on. So I decided to log off and concentrate on my research instead. And maybe find some answers to my questions, and to find out why I couldn’t leave the island.
I found out that all the things I had done should have made me able to leave the island and enter the mainland, but as I said I couldn’t.
I also found that others had the same problem with getting off the island, but all of them had managed to get off it eventually, which cheered me up a bit.
I also found that some people didn’t even get to see the Orientation Island and went straight to the real thing, which I found a little odd.
At this point I was ready to give it another go, so I logged in again and to my horror realized that all that I had saved was gone again and I had to do all the tasks AGAIN!
I thought to myself, never mind, I just do them again and that will be it. Just need to wait and see. So again I did all the tasks again but still nothing happened. This might sound really stupid but I still couldn’t get off it.
This little game went on for about two weeks until I had enough and talked to my Tutor about it. His assistant who also had an Avatar on SL promised me to help me out, and find some more information about how to get off it. She was one of the lucky ones who didn’t even get to the Orientation Island and went straight into the Main World.
I will post the links me and her found, to get off the Island, maybe if some of you have the same problems, these might help. Although they didn’t help me really, I still didn’t get anywhere.
At this point I was ready to give up, frustration set in and I just didn’t know what else I could do.
For two weeks I tried everything anyone written online but nothing could get me off this Orientation Island.
The only way I finally got off the Island and into the main domain I had to create a new Avatar. That meant signing on again and creating a new account.
This was my last resort, and one might not believe me but within half an hour with my new Avatar being on that Orientation Island I got a key and was able to leave.
I felt so relieved to finally being able to explore the real thing.
I landed on Help Island and from there on I could wander around in the real thing.
